Post 4 - First Campsite - The Vande Veldes, Sioux Center

The bar was set very high with our first host family.  Monte and Erin Vande Velde's house sits right on the golf course in Sioux Center. We were provided beautiful yard space with lush grass for our tents, plus drive-way space with electrical hook-ups for the RV.  But they didn't stop there.  They also served us a delicious pork loin dinner Saturday night and a wonderful hot breakfast for our send-off on Sunday morning.

We were feeling pretty lucky that the thunderstorm passed us by with little, to no damage.  But then… the golf course high-powered sprinklers came on and drenched the tents.  Some awnings (tent flies) held up better than others.

Breakfast was served at 6am and everyone was giddy and atwitter with excitement.  We bid our host family adieu, and Team B52 joined the endless sea of RAGBRAI riders.
